Early Life and Education

Spanish conductor Andrés Bragado studied piano in both Spain and the United States. He later honed his conducting skills under the tutelage of George Szell and Igor Markevitch.

Notable Leadership Roles

Braga has held several prestigious leadership positions in the music industry. From 1991 to 2000, he served as Music Director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León. Concurrently, he led the Louisville Orchestra from 1995 to 1998. In 2004, he became Music Director of the Monterey Symphony Orchestra.

Notable Collaborations

Braga's collaborations have included a noteworthy recording of Alberto Ginastera's complete cello concertos. The project featured the composer's wife, cellist Aurora Nátola-Ginastera, as the soloist.
