Biography of Megan Duggan

Early Life and Education

Megan Duggan is an American athlete and hockey player who has already set her sights on a career in pediatrics after her sports career. However, for now, Duggan's career is in full swing, and her silver medal at the Olympic Games confirms that it is too early to think about retirement. Duggan was born and raised in Danvers, Massachusetts, as one of the three children of Bob and Mary Duggan. Even in school, she showed exceptional athletic talent and was named the Best Female Athlete at Cushing Academy three times in a row. While hockey was her main passion, Duggan also excelled in other sports such as softball, soccer, and lacrosse. She attended the University of Wisconsin, where she studied biology.

Hockey Career

Duggan began playing professional hockey in 2005 and joined the Wisconsin Badgers in 2006. By the end of her first season, she ranked second in the team in points and was named the top rookie in goals scored. Throughout the season, Duggan scored three game-winning goals and finished third in the NCAA rookie scoring rankings with 52 points. She also earned five WCHA Rookie of the Week awards, a record within the Badgers team. In 2007, Duggan participated in her first Women's World Championship in Manitoba, Canada, where the American team finished in second place. She continued to excel in her hockey career and was a key player for the Badgers, leading the team in scoring and helping them achieve victory in important matches.
