Early Life and Career

Melisa Suzanne McBride was born on May 23, 1965, in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, to John Leslie McBride and Suzanne Lillian McBride. Her father owned a business, while her mother briefly studied at The Pasadena Playhouse. Melisa had two older brothers, John Michael McBride (1957-1990) and Neil Allen McBride (1960-2008), as well as an older sister, Melanie Suzanne McBride (1962-2012), but they have all passed away. Melisa attended Richard J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She began her acting career in 1991 with commercials. For a time, McBride worked as a spokeswoman for Ford Motor Company. In 1993, Melisa appeared in an episode of "Matlock" (1986-1995), after which she began actively acting in television and film.
