Early Life and CareerMichael Ironside, an American actor known for portraying terrifying villains and bad guys, has made a lasting impression on audiences throughout his prolific career. His real name is Frederick Reginald Ironside, and he was born on February 12, 1950, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, into a working-class family. His mother was a homemaker, and his father worked as a street lighting technician. Michael Ironside was born into a large family of 16 siblings. As a teenager, his favorite sport was arm wrestling. Initially, Michael's dream was to become a writer. At the age of fifteen, he wrote a play called "The Shelter" and won a nationwide university contest. The prize money was used to produce the play.
After graduating from an art college in Ontario, Michael Ironside worked as a roofer in the construction industry while simultaneously studying for three years at the Canadian Film Development Corporation. His initial attempts to become an actor were unsuccessful. However, Michael Ironside persevered and spent some time working in Canadian television. His first film featuring Michael Ironside was released in the late 1970s. Following his debut, Ironside quickly gained recognition and received numerous accolades from audiences. Personal Life
Michael Ironside has been married twice. He has an older daughter named Adrianna from his first marriage, who was born in 1974, and a daughter named Findlay from his second marriage, born in 1998. Following in her father's footsteps, his eldest daughter has had a successful acting career. All of Ironside's numerous siblings and their families live on the same street in Toronto.
