Early Life and CareerMichael Parson, an American politician, was born and raised in Missouri. A third-generation farmer, he was an active advocate for the 2014 Missouri constitutional amendment exempting farmers from regulations imposed by animal rights activists. Parson served in the U.S. Military Police in Germany and Hawaii.
Political Career
Parson's political career began in 1993 with elected positions. He served 12 years as Sheriff of Polk County and 11 years as a Missouri House Representative and State Senator. In 2016, he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Missouri alongside Governor Eric Greitens.
Governor of Missouri
On May 29, 2018, Greitens resigned amid numerous allegations. By succession, Parson became the 57th Governor of Missouri on June 1, 2018. As governor, he has focused on issues such as agriculture, infrastructure development, and economic growth.
