Miguel Ángel Bossio

Miguel Ángel Bossio was a Uruguayan footballer who played as a midfielder for the Uruguay national team.

Early Career

Born in Montevideo, Bossio began his football career with the youth system of Racing Club de Montevideo. In 1978, he turned professional with Sud América. In 1980, he joined fellow Montevideo club Peñarol.

Peñarol Success

With Peñarol, Bossio achieved significant success, winning four Uruguayan Primera División championships (1981, 1982, 1985, and 1986), the 1982 Copa Libertadores, and the 1982 Intercontinental Cup.

Spanish Clubs

In 1986, Bossio transferred to Spanish club Valencia. He played for Valencia from 1986 to 1989, before joining Sabadell in the same country. He retired from professional football in 1991 with Sabadell.

International Career

Bossio made his debut for the Uruguay national team on October 27, 1983, in a Copa América final match against Brazil. He played a total of 30 matches for Uruguay, scoring one goal. In 1983, he was part of the team that won the Copa América. He also represented his country at the 1986 FIFA World Cup, playing in three matches.
