Early Life and Education- Born in Georgia
- Graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music, and Cinematography in 1979 (under the tutelage of Yuli Karasik)
Career at Georgian Telefilm
- Worked at Georgian Telefilm from 1969 to 2006- Started as an assistant director
- Became a film director in 1989
- Head of Documentary Films Department from 1996
- Art Council member since 1991

- Appeared in several feature films, including:

- "Me, Grandma, Iliko, and Illarion" (1962)

- Directed over 30 documentaries and 2 feature films at Georgian Telefilm
Teaching
- Became a member of the Georgian Union of Cinematographers in 1995- Has been teaching at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film University since 2003
