Biography of Miroslav Dumansky
Miroslav Dumansky is a former Soviet football player, midfielder, and football coach. He started his career playing for local teams such as "Medik," "Spartak," and the Garrison Officers' House. Later on, he played for the Lviv ODO team (the team of the District Officers' House). From 1953 to 1956, Dumansky played for the "Shakhtyor" team in Stalino. In 1955, he was included in the list of the top 33 football players of the season in the USSR (No. 3). In 1957, he transferred to "Spartak," where he played until 1962. He ended his career in the "Neftyanik" team in Dolyna, where he was adored by the Ivan-Frankivsk fans.
Football Career and Achievements
Dumansky was the first Master of Sports of the USSR in football in the Ivan-Frankivsk region, starting from 1978. As a tribute to his contribution to the sport, a Cup was named after him, which has been held since 1995. He began his coaching career with "Neftyanik" in Dolyna and later worked as a coach for "Spartak" in Ivan-Frankivsk. In 1979, he became the head of the team. From 1975 to 1996, Dumansky served as the head of the football school of Ivan-Frankivsk's "Spartak." He graduated from Lviv State Institute of Physical Education. Dumansky is also known as the father of football player Yaroslav Dumansky.
