Early Life and CareerMohammed Al-Deayea was born on August 2, 1972, in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Initially, he aspired to be a handball goalkeeper but later switched to football at the behest of his older brother, Abdullah. Al-Deayea began his professional career in 1991 with Al-Tai Club, where he played until 1999.
Move to Al-Hilal
In 2000, Al-Deayea joined the renowned Al-Hilal Club in Riyadh. Known for his unorthodox style of wearing pants, a goalkeeper jersey, and a cap during matches, he cemented his legacy as one of Saudi Arabia's greatest goalkeepers.
International Career
Al-Deayea made his debut for the Saudi Arabian national team in 1993. He went on to represent his country in four FIFA World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002, and 2006), two AFC Asian Cups (1996 and 2000), and the 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup. He holds the second-highest record of appearances for a goalkeeper, with 178 caps.
