Early Life and Background
Muslium Gadzhimagomedov is a Russian amateur boxer from Dagestan, competing in the heavyweight category. Born in the Tlyaratinsky district of Dagestan, he is an Avar by nationality.
Amateur Boxing Career
Based in Makhachkala, Gadzhimagomedov is a graduate of the Makhachkala Boxing Academy at the Ali Aliev Sports School. He made his international debut in 2017 at the European Championships, replacing his injured teammate Georgy Kushitashvili.
Triumph at the European Games
In 2019, Gadzhimagomedov claimed victory at the European Games in Minsk, defeating the experienced Belarusian Vladislav Smialikov in the 91 kg final.
World Championship Glory
Gadzhimagomedov reached the pinnacle of amateur boxing in 2019, becoming the World Champion at the tournament in Yekaterinburg. He outpointed experienced opponents Shevon Clarke, Radoslav Panteleev, and Julio Castillo to secure the gold medal.
