Early Life and Music

In November 2004, Alexander Naumenko founded the band "Razgildyay Group NAUM I Ko." Naumenko was the mastermind behind the group's lyrics, music, and ideology. In his early years, he studied violin at a music school, but in 1987, his passion for the guitar took over. Despite his promising violin skills, Naumenko struggled to finish the music school. However, he remained dedicated to his guitar playing.

Punk Era

In 1990, Naumenko met Sergei Kaminsky, and together they formed the punk band "Depressive Psychosis." Kaminsky wrote the band's lyrics. The band enjoyed a three-year run during which they released three albums that were circulated throughout Ukraine. In 1992, they gained significant exposure by performing at the legendary Kyiv rock club "KiN." Their raucous and uncensored songs shocked the authorities but resonated deeply with the underground youth.

Solo Career and Business Pursuits

After the band's dissolution, Naumenko embarked on a solo career, transforming his image, music, and lyrics. In 1995, he collaborated with Sergei Matveychuk (lyrics) and Viktor Ovsienko (arrangements). Despite three years of effort, Naumenko's new style failed to gain traction. In 1999, he abandoned his musical pursuits and ventured into various business ventures.

Comeback and Group Formation

Naumenko's passion for music never waned. In 2004, he once again began writing songs, amassing enough material for two albums. Facing challenges in finding musicians, he met arranger Timur Polyansky, with whom he produced four songs. However, these songs remained unreleased due to conceptual differences. In 2005, Naumenko shot a music video for the song "Baksy," directed by Stepan Vasilyshin. Despite its originality, the video failed to gain mainstream attention, as Ukrainian television dismissed it as "non-format." Naumenko remained undeterred: "I don't care what labels they try to put on our music. What matters is that we do it with heart and soul."

Breakthrough and Success

In late 2005, Naumenko assembled a permanent band featuring an accordion, keyboards, and percussion. They rehearsed diligently, developing a unique sound and concept that Naumenko had long sought. The addition of musicians from other bands further enhanced their performances and brought their music to wider audiences. After overcoming numerous obstacles, Razgildyay Group NAUM I Ko emerged as a truly original and captivating force in Ukrainian music.
