Nicolás Tagliafico: A Steadfast Defender

Early Career and Debut

Nicolás Tagliafico, an Argentine defender, began his professional career with Banfield in 2011. He made his debut in the Argentine Primera División on March 12, 2011, against Tigre. Tagliafico scored his first goal for Banfield on April 22, 2012, in a match against San Lorenzo.

Loan to Murcia

In 2013, Tagliafico was loaned to Spanish club Murcia. He debuted in the Segunda División on September 15, playing against Mirandés.

Return to Banfield and Rise to Prominence

After his loan spell at Murcia, Tagliafico returned to Banfield and helped the club secure promotion back to the top-flight.

Transfer to Independiente

In 2015, Tagliafico joined Independiente for a transfer fee of €1.8 million. He made his debut on February 15 against Newell's Old Boys. Tagliafico scored his first goal for Independiente on October 5, in a match against River Plate. In 2017, he played a pivotal role in helping Independiente win the Copa Sudamericana.

Move to Ajax

Tagliafico transferred to Dutch giants Ajax in 2018, signing a 4.5-year contract.

International Career

Tagliafico represented Argentina at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Nigeria in 2009 and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia in 2011.
