Upon his return to Bulgaria, the brilliant astronomer assumed the mantle of Professor of Astronomy at Sofia University in 1932. His tenure as Director of the Sector of Astronomy at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1952-1972) was a testament to his unwavering dedication to the field.

His groundbreaking work on the origin and evolution of the Moon, including the distribution of craters on its surface, challenged prevailing theories.
