Nikolai Stepanovich Abroskin: A Distinguished Career in Special Construction
Early Life and Education
Nikolai Stepanovich Abroskin was born on January 1, 1951, in the village of Armievo, Penza Oblast, Russia. In 1973, he graduated with honors from the Mordovian State University named after N.P. Ogarev, earning a degree in animal husbandry.
Military Service
Following graduation, Abroskin joined the Armed Forces of the USSR, where he held various positions in the Special Construction Service (Spetsstroy). During his tenure, he served as a first deputy head of the Federal Service of Special Construction of the Russian Federation (Rosspetsstroy) from 1997 to 1998.
Leadership of Spetsstroy
In March 1999, Abroskin became the head of the Federal Service of Special Construction (FSSS). Under his leadership, the FSSS was transformed into an independent federal executive body in May 2000, with Abroskin serving as its director. In April 2004, the FSSS was reorganized as the Federal Agency of Special Construction, with Abroskin appointed as its head.
Awards and Recognition
Throughout his career, Abroskin has been recognized for his exceptional service. He has been awarded the Orders "For Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces of the USSR" of the III and II degrees, as well as the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the IV degree. He holds the military rank of Colonel General.
