Education and Legal Career
Born in Ukraine, the politician received his legal education at the prestigious Kyiv State University, graduating with honors in 1993. His academic pursuits continued as he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation in 2001, earning his Doctorate in Law.
Political Journey
The politician embarked on his political career as a member of the renowned "Our Ukraine" political party. However, in 2006, he made a bold move by resigning from the party while retaining his position within the "Our Ukraine" parliamentary faction. This decision stemmed from a controversy surrounding the registration of his associates within the European Party of Ukraine, a move perceived as a conflict of interest while serving as a council member and chairman of the political committee of "Our Ukraine."
Founding of European Platform for Ukraine
In response to the controversy, the politician launched the "European Platform for Ukraine" in December 2006, a grassroots political movement. The movement sought to promote European integration, including Ukraine's potential membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
2007 Parliamentary Elections
