Nicolai Stepanovich Vingranovsky was a renowned Ukrainian writer, filmmaker, actor, screenwriter, and poet. Born in Pervomaisk in 1936, his early life was marked by the vibrant cultural scene of his hometown. After completing school, he studied at the prestigious Kyiv Theater Institute and later attended the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, where he honed his filmmaking skills.

Vingranovsky's career in the entertainment industry began as an actor in 1962. He directed several films at the Dovzhenko Film Studio and the Odesa Film Studio before becoming a director at the Dovzhenko Film Studio in Kyiv, where he made his mark as a creative force.
