Biography of Nizami Jafarov

Nizami Jafarov is an Azerbaijani philologist, a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, and a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He holds a Doctor of Philological Sciences degree and is a professor at Baku State University. Jafarov has been a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan since 2001. He is also the head of the "Ataturk" Center, which was founded by Heydar Aliyev.

In 2005, Jafarov was elected as a member of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Agstafa electoral district number 108. He currently serves as the chairman of the parliamentary committee on culture.

Throughout his career, Jafarov has published a total of 10 books and over 100 articles as scientific works. He has also had more than 10 articles published internationally. His main scientific achievements revolve around analyzing various issues in the history of the Azerbaijani language, literature, Turkology, and Azerbaijan studies. Furthermore, he has supervised the research of 5 candidates of sciences.
