Dr. Alexander Voznesensky, a Renowned Legal Scholar and Educator
Early Life and EducationAlexander Voznesensky graduated with honors from the Karaganda State University named after Academician E.A. Bukhketov in 1984. During his time as a student, he actively participated in various university, regional, and national public organizations. Voznesensky was awarded with honorary diplomas from the Central Committee of the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union (VLKSM) and a diploma from the Central Committee of the Leninist Communist Youth Union of Kazakhstan (LKSK). He was selected as a delegate to the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students in the Republic of Korea. As a commander, he led the Republican Student Construction Squad "Kazakhstan," which won first place among 15,000 student construction squads in the USSR in 1988.
Military Service and Academic Pursuits
After graduating, Voznesensky served in the Military Tribunal of the Alma-Ata Garrison. In 1992, he joined a group of young scientists from the Republic who were accepted by President Nursultan Nazarbayev and sent for scientific and pedagogical training at universities in Turkey. From 1986 to 1989, he worked as a lecturer; from 1993 to 2016, he was an associate professor and head of the Department of Law at Karaganda State University.
Doctoral Degree and International Exposure
Voznesensky earned his PhD in Jurisprudence with a dissertation titled "Individualization of Criminal Punishment for Crimes Against Life" in March 1993. In May 2003, he defended his doctoral dissertation on "Theory and Practice of Sentencing" and was awarded the Doctor of Law degree. Voznesensky completed research and teaching internships at universities in England, France, Belgium, Spain, and Malaysia from 1994 to 1997.
Leadership at Karaganda University "Bolashak"
Since 1996, Voznesensky has served as Rector of Karaganda University "Bolashak." Under his leadership, the university has gained significant recognition and achievements.
Political Involvement
Voznesensky is an active member of the Nur Otan party. He has held the positions of coordinator of the regional headquarters of the Nur Otan party since 2005 and deputy of the Karaganda Regional Maslikhat on the student electoral district since 2007. He has also served as Chairman of the Karaganda Regional Maslikhat's Standing Commission on Law and Human Rights.
Academic and Professional Affiliations
Voznesensky is a member of several academic and professional organizations, including the International Personnel Academy (Ukraine), the Academy of Social Sciences (Kazakhstan), the International Slavic Academy of Education named after Ya.A. Komensky (Moldova), and the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Kazakhstan. He has authored over 110 scientific works, many of which have been published in prestigious international journals.
