Early Life and Career
Osama Hawsawi, a prominent Saudi Arabian footballer, was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He started his professional journey in 2006 with Al-Wehda Club in his hometown.
Al-Hilal Dominance
In 2008, Hawsawi moved to Al-Hilal in Riyadh. Under the guidance of Belgian coach Eric Gerets, he became a regular and later the captain of the team. Hawsawi played a pivotal role in Al-Hilal's numerous domestic triumphs.
Brief Stint in Belgium
In 2012, Hawsawi signed with Belgian giants Anderlecht. However, his stint there was short-lived. He featured in only one league game and experienced an injury setback.
Return to Saudi Arabia
Hawsawi returned to Saudi Arabia in 2012, joining Al-Ahli in Jeddah. He played for four seasons, culminating in a championship victory in his final campaign. In 2016, he rejoined Al-Hilal.
International Career
Hawsawi made his international debut in 2006. He featured prominently in the 2007 Asian Cup, where Saudi Arabia reached the final. Hawsawi scored his first international goal in 2008. He was part of the Saudi Arabian squad at the 2011 and 2015 Asian Cups.
