Early Career and International Success

Thoresen began his professional hockey career in 2002 with Storhamar Dragons, a Norwegian club. He quickly established himself as a highly skilled left-winger and caught the attention of several international teams. In 2008, he joined HC Lugano in Switzerland, where he had a brief but impressive stint.

Thoresen has been a vital player for the Norwegian national team, representing his country in numerous tournaments. Notably, at the 2012 World Championships, he was instrumental in Norway's success, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists. His performance earned him a spot on the tournament's All-Star Team.

Dominance in the KHL

In 2009, Thoresen moved to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), signing with Salavat Yulaev Ufa. He became a key member of the club's top line alongside Alexander Radulov and Igor Grigorenko.
