Biography of Paul Essola
Paul Essola is a Cameroonian footballer who played as a midfielder. He began his professional career in France after being scouted by a football academy in Cameroon, which frequently participated in tournaments in France. At one of these tournaments, Essola, then only 13 years old, was invited to join Bastia. He went through all the stages of the academy, eventually reaching the first team. It was during his time at Bastia that he acquired French citizenship.
Subsequently, Essola received an invitation to join Stal Alchevsk in Ukraine from his former coach, Ton Caanen. He made his debut for the team on March 4, 2007, in a match against Metalurh Donetsk, which they won 3-0. However, the team struggled throughout the season and eventually got relegated. Following this, Essola was invited to play for Arsenal by coach Alexander Zavarov. He made his debut for Arsenal on July 15, 2007, once again against Metalurh Donetsk. He scored his first goal for the team on July 28, 2008, in a match against Neftekhimik, just ten minutes into the game, which ended in a 3-0 victory.
In terms of international career, Essola represented the Cameroon national team in the 2008 African Cup of Nations. However, he only played for a total of 14 minutes during the tournament.
