Early Career in Theater

At the age of 13, Paula made her debut on stage in May 1925 at the "Illinois Theater" in Chicago in the play "Stepping Stones." She began studying acting and singing at the age of 12, initially aspiring to become a singer like her mother. Paula performed with her father and sister Dorothy in the show "Ripples," which premiered in New Haven, Connecticut, in January 1930. Her first performance in New York took place in February of the same year at the New Amsterdam Theater. She went on to participate in various plays and musicals, including Broadway productions.

In 1935, Paula signed a contract with the studio "RKO" and played Mary Meeker in the western film "Hop-a-long Cassidy." She appeared in several more films until 1939, after which her film career came to an end, and she returned to theater.

Radio and Television Work

During World War II, when her husband was declared missing in action, Paula, an established actress by then, began performing in shows and concerts for military personnel on military bases. She later became a radio host for WNEW radio station in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she hosted a program for servicemen that included news, gossip, and other entertainment information. Eventually, she had her own show on the Mutual Radio Network. In 1950, Paula hosted the program "Hollywood USA," where she interviewed celebrities and shared the latest entertainment news. Her show was renamed "The Paula Stone Program" in 1952. In 1954, she worked with the theater company "Broadway Angels, Inc." and hosted the television program "Angel Auditions," which featured popular Broadway shows.
