Early Life and Military Career
Pervez Musharraf, a prominent statesman and military leader in Pakistan, was born in 1943 in British India. In 1947, with the establishment of Pakistan as an independent nation, Musharraf's family relocated to Pakistan. He is married with a son and a daughter, while his son and brother currently reside in the United States. In 1964, Musharraf embarked on his military career, joining the Pakistan Army. He distinguished himself during the India-Pakistan wars of 1965 and 1971.
Ascent to Power
From 1971 to 1998, Musharraf held various military positions, commanding infantry and armored brigades. In 1998, he was promoted to General and appointed as the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan. On October 12, 1999, Musharraf orchestrated a bloodless military coup, assuming executive power in the country.
Presidency
