Early Life and Education

Peter Krause was born in Alexandria, Minnesota, in 1965. He initially pursued athletics, excelling in track and field and gymnastics, but injuries shifted his focus towards acting. After graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota with a degree in English, he moved to New York City and earned an MFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Breakthrough Roles and Television Success

Krause's early acting roles were primarily in television series, including "Carol & Company" and "Beverly Hills, 90210." However, it was his portrayal of sportscaster Casey McCall in the series "Sports Night" that brought him widespread recognition. His performance earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination as part of the ensemble cast.

"Six Feet Under" and Beyond

Krause's most iconic role came as Nate Fisher, Jr. in the critically acclaimed HBO series "Six Feet Under." As the sensitive and vulnerable heir to a funeral home, Krause captivated audiences and received numerous award nominations, including Emmy and Golden Globe nods.
