Early Life and Career

Nicholas Coombe was born on December 27, 1994, in Kwinana, a small town in Western Australia. His family later moved to Perth, the capital of Western Australia, where he spent his childhood.

From a young age, Coombe exhibited an affinity for the performing arts. At the age of six, he began taking tap, jazz, and ballet classes, eventually dedicating 14 years to dance. Dance became a gateway to the theater stage, where Coombe's familiarity with performing before an audience helped him feel confident. After memorizing lines, he became a natural at musical theater.

His parents signed him with an acting and modeling agency when he was just seven. Coombe went on to participate in commercials and print campaigns while also performing in musical theater. At the age of eight, he made his on-screen debut in a short film.

Throughout high school, Coombe performed in popular musicals, ranging from "Oliver!" to "Grease," and landed roles in several Australian television series. In 2014, he decided to relocate to Canada, marking a new chapter in his career.

North American Breakthrough

Coombe's North American career began with guest appearances in television series such as "Supernatural," "iZombie," and "Arctic Air." He landed his first series regular role in the 2017 sitcom "Imaginary Mary," starring Jenna Elfman.

Coombe gained widespread recognition in 2019 when he appeared in the family adventure film "Dora and the Lost City of Gold," a live-action adaptation of the popular animated series "Dora the Explorer." Coombe played Randy, an awkward and introverted gamer who befriends Dora and joins her on an adventure that helps him break out of his shell. The film was shot in Coombe's native Australia.

In 2020, Coombe landed the lead role in the dark comedy war drama series "68 Whiskey." The show follows a group of medics stationed in Afghanistan, and Coombe plays Anthony Petrocelli, a kind-hearted 17-year-old who aspires to be a good soldier. Despite his rule-following nature, he often finds himself in amusing and dangerous situations.

Personal Life

Coombe currently resides in Vancouver, Canada. Despite finding a home in Canada, he has maintained close ties to his family back in Australia. In April 2022, he proposed to his girlfriend, Avery, in the mountains of British Columbia.

In his spare time, Coombe is an active member of the band The Beanie Kids, which plays upbeat and infectious indie rock music. They have released an EP, but a full-length album has yet to materialize due to Coombe's busy filming schedule.

Current Projects and Future

On May 5, 2022, the highly anticipated second season of the popular television series "The Wilds" premiered on Amazon Prime Video. The first season followed eight teenage girls who found themselves stranded on a deserted island under mysterious circumstances. In the second season, a new group of male survivors joins the cast, including Coombe as Josh Herbert, an anxious and awkward teenager from a wealthy family.

Later in 2022, Coombe appeared in the Canadian comedy film "1UP," starring Ruby Rose, Hari Nef, and Taylor Zakhar Perez. He portrayed Owen, a charming but arrogant esports enthusiast.
