He scored his first goal for Inter on May 8, 2011, in a match against Fiorentina.

Move to Liverpool

On January 30, 2013, Coutinho signed a long-term contract with Liverpool. According to English press reports, the deal was worth £8.5 million. He was named the best player of Liverpool in the 2014/15 season and was also included in the symbolic team of the year. In January 2017, he extended his contract with the club for five years. On April 8, 2017, after scoring a goal in a match against Stoke City, Coutinho became the highest-scoring Brazilian player in the history of the English Premier League.

In 2011, he was called up by coach Ney Franco to the Under-20 World Cup held in Colombia. He scored a penalty in the second match against Austria and scored a brace against Panama.
