Pietro Ferraris - Italian footballer and World Champion

Pietro Ferraris was an Italian footballer who played as a forward. He was a member of the Italian national team that won the 1938 World Cup. Ferraris holds the record for the most championship titles won in the Italian Serie A, having been a six-time winner.

Early Career

Pietro Ferraris began his career at the club "Pro Vercelli," where he made his debut on November 10, 1929, in a match against "Triestina." In that game, Ferraris' club suffered a home defeat with a score of 1-3. After three seasons, Ferraris moved to "Napoli," where he played for four seasons, appearing in 83 matches and scoring 13 goals.

Success with Inter Milan

In 1936, Ferraris joined "Ambrosiana," making his debut on June 21, 1936, in an away match against "Jedinstvo" in the Mitropa Cup, which "Inter" won 3-2. With "Inter Milan," Ferraris won two Serie A titles in 1938 and 1940.

Move to Torino and National Team

In the summer of 1941, Ferraris transferred to "Torino," with whom he won four Italian championship titles and the Italian Cup. In 1948, Ferraris moved to "Novara," which ultimately saved his life, as the entire "Torino" team tragically died in a plane crash on May 4, 1949. Ferraris played for "Novara" until 1950 when he decided to retire from professional football.

Ferraris made his debut for the Italian national team on February 17, 1935, in a match against France, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Italians. In 1938, Ferraris represented Italy at the World Cup, scoring his first goal in the opening match against Norway, just two minutes into the game. Italy went on to become the tournament's champion. Ferraris played a total of 14 matches for the national team, scoring three goals. His last international appearance was on May 11, 1947, against Hungary.
