Regina Carol Gelfan, known as Carolee Carroll, was born on May 2, 1943, in Boston, Massachusetts. Her mother's untimely death when she was 15 left her virtually alone. She became a Las Vegas dancer, and her dance abilities led to her role in the 1959 crime thriller "The Beat Generation."
Hollywood Breakthrough
Carroll played minor roles in movies like "From the Terrace" and "The Glass Bottom Boat," as well as on TV shows like "Route 66" and "The Dinah Shore Show." A meeting with B-movie director and producer Al Adamson on the set of "Satan's Sadists" (1969) proved pivotal. Adamson fell head over heels for Carroll, and her feelings were reciprocated.
The Adamson Years
Carroll's career took off with Adamson. Together, they created a series of low-budget exploitation films, including "Dracula vs. Frankenstein" (1971) and "Blood of Ghastly Horror" (1972). In these films, Carroll often played femme fatale characters, and her father, Barney Gelfan, frequently had cameos. Adamson and Carroll married in 1972.

Beyond her film career, Carroll had a local talk show, "The Regina Carrol Show," and wrote a column for "The Las Vegas Panorama." She also performed solo dance tributes to Isadora Duncan in Palm Springs.

Carroll was diagnosed with cancer and retired from acting, though she made occasional solo performance appearances. Her battle with her illness ended on November 4, 1992, when she passed away at just 49 years old.
