Early Life and Club CareerRob de Wit, a former Dutch footballer, was born and raised in Utrecht, Netherlands. He began his football career at FC Utrecht, his hometown club. In 1984, he made a notable move to the prestigious AFC Ajax in Amsterdam.

De Wit filled the void left by Jesper Olsen, who had departed to Manchester United. He quickly established himself as a fan favorite at Ajax, regularly featuring in the team's starting lineup during the 1984/85 and 1985/86 seasons.
Tragic End to a Promising Career
In 1986, de Wit's career came to an abrupt end due to a cerebral hemorrhage he suffered while vacationing in Spain. Despite extensive treatment in Sweden, it became evident that he would never be able to play professional football again. He suffered two subsequent cerebral hemorrhages in 1991 and January 2005.
International Career
De Wit made his debut for the Netherlands national team on May 1, 1985, in a World Cup qualifier against Austria, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Two weeks later, he scored his first international goal in a 1-0 victory over Hungary. Despite his contributions, the Netherlands failed to qualify for the 1986 FIFA World Cup after losing a playoff match to Belgium.
