Robert Simon was an American character actor, primarily known for his roles in war films. He had an active career in both film and television from 1950 to 1985, appearing mainly in westerns, as well as dramatic and comedic films.

Early Life and Career

Simon was born in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio. In school, he showed talent in basketball and later pursued a career as a traveling salesman before becoming an actor. Initially, Robert did not consider acting as a serious career but rather as a way to overcome his natural shyness.

However, Simon soon realized that he enjoyed performing on stage and in film and decided to pursue a career in acting. He made his debut in the film "No For an Answer," where he showcased his exceptional dancing and singing abilities. He later collaborated with prestigious American theaters such as the Cleveland Playhouse.
