Robert Jež: A Talented Slovak Midfielder
Robert Jež is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Polish club Górnik Zabrze. Jež began his career at Nitra in 1999 and made 26 appearances, scoring 4 goals.
Playing Career in Europe
In 2000, Jež moved to Czech Republic to join Viktoria Plzeň. He spent four and a half seasons with the club, making 84 appearances and scoring 9 goals. In January 2005, Jež went on loan to Marila Příbram, playing in 5 matches.
After his loan spell, Jež returned to Slovakia and signed for Žilina. He enjoyed a successful period with the club, winning the Slovak Super League title in 2007 and the Slovak Super Cup in the same year. Jež also helped Žilina qualify for the UEFA Champions League and Europa League group stages, scoring several goals in these competitions.
International Career
Jež has represented Slovakia at the youth international level. He made his senior debut on October 16, 2007, in a friendly match against Croatia. Jež scored his first international goal on November 19, 2008, in a friendly against Liechtenstein.
