Robert Mistrík

Robert Mistrík is a Slovak chemist, scientist, businessman, and politician. He was a candidate for President of Slovakia in 2019.

Education and Career

Mistrík studied analytical chemistry at the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava (1991) and received his doctorate from the University of Vienna (1994). He served as a research fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA. In 1998, he returned to Slovakia and founded the company HighChem.

Science and Business

Mistrík is a member of the international organization Metabolomics and the American Chemical Society. In 2009, he co-founded the political party Freedom and Solidarity.

Honors and Awards

Mistrík has received the 1st Class Pribina Cross, Slovakia's highest state honor.

Personal Life

Mistrík is married and has two sons.
