Roberto Bonano - Former Argentine Footballer
Roberto Bonano is a former Argentine footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He began his career in his hometown club, Rosario Central, and later moved to River Plate, where he won several titles.
In 2001, at the age of 31, Bonano signed a contract with Barcelona. He made his debut in La Liga on August 26th in a match against Sevilla, which Barcelona won 2-1. However, with the emergence of Victor Valdes from the youth team, Bonano was considered surplus and subsequently moved to Real Murcia and then Alaves. He retired from professional football in 2008 at the age of 38.
International Career
Bonano represented Argentina at various youth levels. He made his debut on December 28th, 1996, in a friendly match against Yugoslavia. He was later selected as the reserve goalkeeper for the 2002 World Cup, but ended up playing 13 full matches.
