Robin de Jesús is an American theater and film actor born in 1984 in Norwalk, Connecticut, USA, to a Puerto Rican family. He gained recognition primarily from his work on the theater stage.
Theater Career
Robin's most notable acting role was as Sonny in the Broadway musical "In the Heights" in 2008. He received a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for this performance. Prior to this, he appeared in the musical production of "Rent" in 2005, making his debut, and in "Godspell" in New Jersey. In 2010, Robin joined the cast of the musical comedy "La Cage aux Folles" on Broadway. He consistently received nominations for prestigious awards such as the Tony and Drama Desk Award for his various roles.
Film Career
Robin de Jesús made his screen debut in 2003, starring in Todd Graff's musical comedy "Camp." The film, about the adventures of musically gifted children at a summer camp, also featured Daniel Letterle and Joanna Chilcoat.
