Roman Nasirov: A Political and Business Leader
Early Life and EducationRoman Nasirov, a prominent Ukrainian political figure, earned a finance degree from Chernihiv State Institute of Economics and Management in 2000. He further pursued a law degree from Kyiv National University in 2001 and an MBA in finance and international management from the University of East London in 2003. In 2015, he obtained a PhD in Law from the Institute of Legislation of the Verkhovna Rada.
Business Career
Nasirov's business career took him through various leadership roles:- 2005-2007:Head of CIS Brokerage at Cantor Fitzgerald/BGC, London
- 2008-2009:Managing Director, Securities Trading at Concorde Capital
- 2009-2012:Head of Securities Trading and CEO, Central and Eastern Europe at Renaissance Capital
- 2013-2014:Deputy Chairman of the Board of State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine
- 2014-2015:Head of the Ukrainian office of BTG Pactual
Political CareerNasirov entered Ukrainian politics in 2014as a Member of Parliament, representing the Petro Poroshenko Bloc. He served as:
- Head of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on Tax and Customs Policy
- Leader of the Parliamentary Delegation to the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation
- Chairman of the Interparliamentary Relations Group with Azerbaijan

In 2015, Nasirov was appointed Head of the State Fiscal Service, a position he held until 2017.

Following his departure from the State Fiscal Service, Nasirov remained active in politics as:

In 2017, Nasirov was detained and charged in connection with a gas corruption scandal. He was released on bail, but the case remains ongoing.
Personal Life
Nasirov is married to Kateryna Hlimbovska, daughter of businessman Oleksandr Hlimbovsky. They have two sons, Mykhailo and Oleksandr.
