Early Life and Education
Sabit Kerimov was born on April 10, 1940, in Ordubad, Nakhchivan ASSR, Azerbaijan SSR. In 1961, he graduated from the Faculty of Automation of Production Processes at the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry. He further completed his postgraduate studies at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 1967.
Academic Career
In 1968, Kerimov began his academic career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computers and Programming at the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry. In the same year, he earned his Candidate of Technical Sciences degree.
In 1987, he defended his doctoral dissertation and obtained the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences. In 1989, he was awarded the academic title of Professor.
Leadership and Research
Kerimov has served as Head of the Department of Computers and Programming at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy since 1989. His primary research area is the development and application of information and expert systems.
Contributions and Achievements
Kerimov's scientific achievements include:- Authorship of over 115 published works
- Supervision of 10 doctoral candidates
- Development of management and automation systems for various industries
- Creation and application of information and expert systems in diverse fields
Honors and Recognition
In 2001, Sabit Kerimov was elected as a Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
