Krishna Palepu: An Eminent Academic and Author
Early Life and EducationKrishna Palepu holds a Master's degree in Physics from Andhra University, India, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a PhD from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He also received an Honorary Doctorate from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration.
Academic Career at Harvard Business School
Palepu is currently a Professor of Business Administration and Senior Associate Dean for International Development at Harvard Business School (HBS). He teaches courses in accounting, control, and strategy in emerging markets. He also leads several executive education programs at HBS.
Research Interests
Palepu's research focuses on strategic issues in emerging markets, corporate governance, and corporate disclosure. His work aims to enhance corporate governance practices. Specifically, he examines the globalization of emerging markets, particularly India and China, exploring the opportunities and challenges faced by Western multinationals and local companies with global aspirations.
