Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa
Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa is a Bahraini statesman and the Prime Minister of Bahrain since 11 November 2020. He is also the Crown Prince of Bahrain and a member of the Al Khalifa family.
Early Life and Education
Salman is the eldest son of Hamad bin Isa and his first wife, Sabika. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the American University in 1992. In 1994, he received a Master of Philosophy in History and Philosophy of Science from Queens' College, Cambridge University.
Career
Salman has held numerous government positions, including:Deputy Chairman of the Bahrain Center for Studies and Research (1992-1995)
Deputy Defense Minister and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BCSR (1995-1999)
Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force (1999-2008)
First Deputy Prime Minister (March 2013 - 11 November 2020)Prime Minister (11 November 2020 - present)
Family
Salman was married to Sheikha Hala bint Duaij Al Khalifa until 2005. She passed away in June 2018. They had two sons and two daughters:
