Saman Ghoddos: A Talented Footballer with Dual Heritage

Early Career

Saman Ghoddos is an Iranian and Swedish footballer who currently plays as a defender and forward for Östersunds FK and the Iranian national team. Born in Malmö, Sweden, to Iranian parents, he began his football journey at a young age.

Club Career

Ghoddos rose to prominence with Östersunds FK, making his Allsvenskan debut in 2016. He immediately made an impact, scoring 10 goals in his first season. His impressive performances caught the attention of clubs like Hertha Berlin and Ajax. In 2017, he played a pivotal role in Östersunds FK's run to the Swedish Cup final, scoring six goals in six matches. He capped off a remarkable season by scoring the fourth goal in the 4-1 victory over Norrköping in the final.

International Career

Despite having the option to represent both Sweden and Iran, Ghoddos initially chose Sweden. He debuted for the national team in January 2017 and scored his first international goal shortly after. However, in June 2017, he expressed his willingness to play for Iran. He received an Iranian passport in August 2017 and made his debut for the Iranian national team in September 2017.
