Hon. Winnie Kiiza: A Legacy of Service and Leadership

Early Life and Education

Winnie Kiiza, a distinguished Ugandan politician and stateswoman, was born into a political family. The daughter of a respected politician, she pursued higher education at the prestigious Christian University of Uganda.

Political Career

Hon. Kiiza's political journey commenced in 2001 when she was appointed State Minister for Gender, Labor, Social Development, and Youth Affairs. Her unwavering commitment to public service led her to become a Member of Parliament from 2011 onwards.

Membership in the NRM

A staunch member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Hon. Kiiza served in various leadership positions within the party. Her dedication to the NRM's principles and policies was evident throughout her career.

Local Government Experience

Prior to her parliamentary tenure, Hon. Kiiza held significant roles in local government administration. Notably, she served as a councilor in the Kisoro Town Council, contributing to the development and well-being of her community.

Educational Leadership

She served as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Metropolitan International University in Kampala. Passing

Hon. Winnie Kiiza's life was tragically cut short by a heart attack in Kampala on September 7, 2024. She passed away at the young age of 50, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and leadership. Her indomitable spirit and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Ugandans will forever be remembered.
