Sarantuya Batmunkh, a Mongolian pop singer, was born on April 20, 1970, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. She comes from a Mongolian-Yakut family, with her mother, Tatiana Mikhailova, originally from the village of Mytakh Gorny Ulus, moving to the Mongolian People's Republic after graduating from the Irkutsk Pedagogical Institute. Sarantuya began singing at a young age, initially in Russian. Her first significant musical experience came as part of the group "Mongon Kharandaa" (Silver Pencil). Since the late 1980s, she has held a prominent position in the Mongolian pop scene and is often referred to as the "Queen of Music" in the Mongolian language world. Sarantuya has won the Grand Prix of the international competition "Voice of Asia" and has been recognized as the "Leading Singer of the 20th Century" and the "Pop Lady." She sings in Mongolian, Russian, and English, and in 2010, she performed a song in the Yakut language at the Yakut New Year celebration, Ysyakh. Sarantuya is married and has a son and a daughter.
