Scott Gordon-Patterson was born on September 11, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents were Hope Gordon, a housewife, and Francis Ford Patterson IV, a journalist. They divorced in 1974.

Education and Athletic Pursuits

Gordon-Patterson grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey, and attended Rutgers University after high school, intending to major in Comparative Literature. However, he later dropped out to pursue acting in New York City.

From 1980 to 1986, Gordon-Patterson was a professional pitcher in the minor leagues, reaching the level just below the major leagues. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 1980 and traded to the Yankees in 1982.

Acting Career

Early Theatrical Roles

Gordon-Patterson studied acting under renowned teachers such as Robert Lewis and Sondra Lee in New York. He performed in various stage productions, including "Rasputin" and "Miss Julie."

Missed Opportunities and Breakthrough

In 1990, Gordon-Patterson almost landed the role of Buffalo Bill in "Silence of the Lambs," but it ultimately went to Ted Levine. He also came close to playing Mr. Blonde in "Reservoir Dogs" but lost out to Michael Madsen. In 1993, he was considered for the lead in "Little Big League," which ended up being played by Timothy Busfield.

Gordon-Patterson finally secured a leading role in 1996's "Her Best Move." He went on to star in the independent action film "Highway 395" and the drama "Rhapsody in Bloom."
