Early Life and Political Beginnings
Sergey Larin was born in Ukraine and initially worked as an electrician at the Khartsyzsk Tube Plant. He later served in the military and became a municipal deputy in the Khartsyzsk City Council, where he headed the Permanent Commission on Youth Policy, Public Education, and Culture.
Parliamentary Career
In 1998, Larin was elected as a People's Deputy of Ukraine for the third parliamentary convocation. He served as a member of the Committee on Family, Youth, Sports, and Tourism and the People's Democratic Party parliamentary faction.
Ministerial Appointments
From 2010 to 2013, Larin served as the Chairman of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration. During his tenure, he was recognized as one of the best regional leaders in Ukraine. From 2013 to 2014, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine.
Political Leadership
In 2014, Larin took on the role of Chairman of the Progressive Democratic Party of Ukraine, which was later renamed the Party of Development of Ukraine. He also headed the central electoral headquarters of the Opposition Bloc during the 2014 parliamentary elections.
Current Political Positions
Larin was elected as a People's Deputy of Ukraine for the eighth convocation in 2014. He is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and sits on the Executive Committee of the Party of Development of Ukraine.
Honors and Awards
Larin has received numerous awards for his contributions, including the Order of Merit of Ukraine, Third Class, the Order of Merit of Ukraine, Second Class, and the Order of Heungin of the Republic of Korea.
Family and Personal Life
Larin is married to Natalia Larina and has two children, a daughter named Tatyana and a son named Evgeny.
