Early Life and Education

Born into a working-class family in Turin's Lingotto district, Chiara Fregolent spent her childhood in the city. She pursued higher education in law and later worked as a legal consultant for an information center and the Piedmont Department of Environment.

Political Career

Local Politics

Fregolent's political journey began in 2001 when she was elected to the Turin City Council, representing the 9th district. In 2007, she joined the Democratic Party of Italy (PD) and became a provincial councilor and head of the Turin PD branch in 2009. She also served on the executive committee of ECODEM, an environmentalist association within the party.

National Politics

Fregolent's national political career commenced in 2011 when she supported Davide Gariglio in his bid for Turin mayor and Matteo Renzi in the PD leadership election. She was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies on March 19, 2013, representing the Piedmont 1 constituency for the PD.

Within the Chamber of Deputies, Fregolent has served on the Finance Commission since May 7, 2013. In 2015, she voted in favor of the new Italian electoral law, which was passed on May 4.
