Early Years and DebutSofia Raffaeli, an Italian rhythmic gymnast, began her journey at the age of 7 under the guidance of renowned coaches Giulietta Cantaluppi, Kristina Giurova, and Bilyana Dyakova at the Fabriano club. Her international debut came at the 2018 European Junior Championships, where she placed 5th in the clubs final. At the 2019 Junior World Championships, she earned three silver medals in the team, ribbon, and clubs events.
Breakthrough and National Success
2020 marked Raffaeli's debut in adult competitions. She claimed third place in the all-around, first place in the clubs, and second place in the ball at the Italian Championships. In 2021, she finished 10th in the all-around at the Sofia World Cup but secured a silver in the clubs and a bronze in the ball in the individual apparatus finals. At the Tashkent World Cup, she added two more silver medals to her tally in the ribbon and hoop finals.
International Recognition and 2021 European Championships

At the 2022 Italian Championships, Raffaeli dominated the all-around and secured four golds in the ball, hoop, ribbon, and clubs. She continued her winning streak at the 2022 World Cup in Pesaro, capturing the all-around title once more. At the 2022 European Championships in Tel Aviv, she became the first Italian gymnast to win a European gold medal, earning top honors in hoop, clubs, and team while taking silver in ball. Raffaeli represented Italy at the 2022 World Games, where she earned gold in the clubs final and two silvers in the hoop and ball.
2023: Further Success
Raffaeli kicked off 2023 with an all-around victory at the Marbella Grand Prix. She also secured a gold in the ribbon final and a silver in the clubs final. At the Sofia World Cup, she triumphed in the all-around and hoop finals and placed second in ball. In Tashkent, she swept all five gold medals available. Despite placing second in the all-around at the Baku World Cup, she added two more golds in the ribbon and ball.
