Soungoutou Magassouba: Rising Star of AS Monaco
Early LifeBorn on 7 May 2005, in Stains, Seine-Saint-Denis, Soungoutou Magassouba developed his football skills at various French clubs before joining AS Monaco's academy in 2018.
Club Career
Despite receiving offers from renowned clubs such as AS Roma and AC Milan, Magassouba opted to sign his first professional contract with Monaco in April 2021. He made his debut on 2 January 2022, replacing Wissam Ben Yedder in a 3-1 Coupe de France victory against Quevilly-Rouen Métropole in the Round of 32.
International Career
Magassouba, who is of Malian descent, is eligible to represent both France and Mali at the international level. In March 2023, he received a call-up to the French U-20 squad for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Playing Style
Described as a box-to-box midfielder, Magassouba possesses the versatility to play as a defensive midfielder or a center-back. Proficient with both feet, he excels in winning back possession and finding incisive passes.
