Early Career and Scandal
On October 15, 2004, during the fourth season of the International Wrestling Federation, a scandal occurred. One of the eight finalists, who went by the name of The Boogeyman, was disqualified. Forty-year-old wrestler Marty Wright deceived the judges by falsely stating his age. Despite The Boogeyman appearing more confident in the ring than many thirty-year-olds, rules are rules.

The BoogeyMan first appeared on the SmackDown stage on October 13, 2005, and within a few months, it became evident to fans that he was a serious opponent capable of many things in the ring. The BoogeyMan has become so entrenched in his persona as a dark knight hiding his inner pain that the audience only perceives him as such - a terrifying individual named Marty Wright completely hidden behind a gruesome mask.
The Worm-Eating Incident
In 2005, during the final match against Simon Dean, Marty delivered a crushing blow to his opponent and then pulled a handful of live worms from his pocket, proceeding to eat them. The commentator was disgusted, and the crowd erupted in astonishment. After this incident, The BoogeyMan gained a reputation as a worm eater, using them to "feed" his defeated opponents. Decline and Departure
In 2008 and 2009, the former world champion experienced several defeats, resulting in a decline in his popularity in the ring.
