Early Life and Family
Born on March 29, 1993, in La Louvière, Belgium, Thorgan Hazard spent his childhood in Braine-le-Comte. His father, Thierry Hazard, was a former captain and mainstay of La Louvière, while his mother, Carine Van Derbeken, played as a striker in Belgium's First Division. Growing up in a football-loving family, Thorgan and his brothers, Eden, Kylian, and Ethan, were all destined for the sport.
Club Career
Thorgan Hazard began his youth career with Tubize in Belgium before joining French club Lens at the age of 16. He subsequently moved to Chelsea and Zulte Waregem before being voted Belgian Footballer of the Year in 2013. Known for his versatility as both a left-winger and central forward, Hazard's agility, speed, and composure have made him a formidable player.
From 2014 to 2019, he played for Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany. Despite being overshadowed by his brother Eden at times, Thorgan Hazard still managed an impressive 46 goals in 182 appearances. In 2019, he signed with Borussia Dortmund, winning the DFB-Pokal with the team.
International Career
Hazard has represented Belgium at the senior level since 2014. He was part of the team that won the bronze medal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and scored crucial goals at the 2021 UEFA European Championship and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Personal Life
Thorgan Hazard married Mari Kindermans, the daughter of Anderlecht's technical director, in 2016. They have two daughters, Elaine and Casey. Despite their shared passion for football, Hazard and his brother Eden remain close friends, and their children often spend time together.
Current Career
In January 2023, Hazard was loaned to PSV Eindhoven, where he scored a goal in his debut match against Feyenoord. In the autumn of the same year, he made a three-year transfer to Anderlecht for a reported fee of €4 million.
