Tony Alexander Adams, an English footballer, central defender, and coach, was born on October 10, 1966, in the English town of Romford. From a young age, Adams developed a love for football and never parted ways with a ball since the age of seven. At the age of eight, he and three friends went for a trial at the "Eastbrook Comprehensive" youth football school. After a week of intense training, his friends left the club, while the future captain of the "Gunners" was offered the opportunity to pursue football professionally.
After a year of training, Tony began playing for the "Romford Royals" club. He forever remembered his first match in life. His team was losing 0-2 to a club from Birmingham, but in the 66th minute, Adams scored a goal from a corner kick, and in the 75th minute, he scored a second goal from another corner kick. Since then, he has always been present in the opponent's penalty area during corner kicks. The match ended with a score of 3-2 in favor of Adams' team.
At the age of ten, Tony joined the "Gidea Park R" club. It was with this team that he first traveled abroad to Spain for the annual "Lasep Cup" tournament. Unfortunately, his team lost in the semifinals, but Adams was recognized as the tournament's best player. After this tournament, Tony was offered to join the "Dagenham" football school, and he started playing for the "Dagenham U" club. After two years here, in November 1980, Adams arrived at London's "Arsenal".
The coaches at Arsenal immediately noticed that Tony had a brilliant vision of the field and could read the game exceptionally well. They also noticed that his passes were perfect and precise, that he could join attacks, and in difficult moments, he could carry the team on his shoulders. Another significant advantage of Adams was his ability to play with his head. On January 30, 1984, Adams acquired professional status. Since then, he has been playing for Arsenal at a professional level. Throughout his life, he remained loyal to Arsenal, and in March 1988, Tony started wearing the captain's armband for matches.
