Early Life and Education
Trine Bramsen was born on March 26, 1981, in Svendborg, Denmark, to primary school teachers Bo Steffen Madsen and Lene Bramsen Madsen. After graduating from high school, she pursued a degree in social sciences, receiving a Master's degree from Roskilde University in 2007.
Political Career
Bramsen's political journey began in 2001 when she joined the Social Democratic Youth organization. She has held various positions within the party, including as an assistant in the labor market and as a scientific assistant at the University of Copenhagen.
In 2011, Bramsen was elected to the Danish parliament (Folketing) from the Greater Funen constituency. She has been re-elected twice and currently serves as the Minister of Defense in the cabinet of Mette Frederiksen.
Rise to Prominence
As a member of the Social Democratic board of the Danish Women's Council, Bramsen advocated for controversial policies, including forcibly removing children from families with gang involvement and lowering the age of criminal responsibility for young offenders. These proposals positioned her as a vocal advocate for law and order.
